Trails and trials of the writer who walks
I’ve been looking for somewhere to stock up on heat packs for my Trekmates flameless cook system if I do the Pennine Way in one go. (Have the flask and totally depend on it for hot drinks, porridge, cous-cous, instant pasta)
PUDSEY. Just love the name of the place and love even more an excuse to go there. The station of New Pudsey is on a direct line from Hebden Bridge, journey 40 minutes, fare about £5.30 return.
GO Outdoors Pudsey
I think if I am doing the whole Pennine Way in one go, it will be a good time to take a break and stock up on whatever. Apart from heat packs, I might want new socks, or a T shirt, or water purifying tablets, and Hebden Bridge is a lovely place to take a break.
Thinking along the same lines, Hadrian’s Wall is also a good opportunity – major bus route running between Carlisle and Newcastle.
